By Ordering from this site, you acknowledge that you are aware that these are not studio production DVDs. These are created from recorded airings of television shows converted and optimized for DVD play, The quality of these programs vary by episode and are as-is. There will be no refunds based on quality of a show, nor once the DVDs have been shipped, due to the ease of DVD copying and returning for full refund. We will however replace any DVDs that were defective or improperly created. Classic TV assures you that our average DVD quality ranges between 7/10 (semi-grainy but watchable) to 10/10 (perfect) unless otherwise noted. But Keep in mind the quality can only be as good as that of the original program. There is no such thing as Hi-Definition on these Rare Programmes. Some shows were recaptured onto DVD transferred from VHS.

Keep in mind that Classic TV strives to get the best quality of TV shows and movies, but must do so legally, which means that none of our DVD-Rs are copies of production or studio released DVDs. We bring a service to collectors to help them acquire Complete Series of TV Shows that they cannot find elsewhere because they have not been officially released yet. We are a non-commercial site, offering our sets as collectors items.

Legal copies of these shows mean they were recorded from free-to-air television airwaves. You will not find any premium or pay-per-view content on our sets. Please note that we are not selling the content of the television shows that we offer. The shows were aired free for all to view at one point, and they remain free. We do not own the licenses to any of the shows that we offer here. We only charge for the service of converting them to DVD, supplying the blank media, cases, labeling, shipping supplies, and our time. This is no different than a person recording their favorite TV Shows at home on their own VCR and giving a copy to a friend, charging that person only for your services and time to copy the show for them, we only offer them online to help a wider selection of people enjoy their old favorites for private use.

These are not considered "bootlegs". As a result of Sony's victory in the BetaMax/VCR Sony v. Universal Studios case of 1984:

"The District Court concluded that noncommercial home use recording of material broadcast over the
public airwaves was a fair use of copyrighted works and did not constitute copyright infringement. It
emphasized the fact that the material was broadcast free to the public at large, the noncommercial
character of the use, and the private character of the activity conducted entirely within the home.
Moreover, the court found that the purpose of this use served the public interest in increasing access to
television programming, an interest that "is consistent with the First Amendment policy of providing the
fullest possible access to information through the public airwaves. Columbia Broadcasting System, Inc. v.
Democratic National Committee, 412 U.S. 94, 102." Id., at 454. n8 Even when an entire copyrighted work
was recorded, [p.426] the District Court regarded the copying as fair use "because there is no
accompanying reduction in the market for 'plaintiff's original work.'" Ibid."

"...In summary, those findings reveal that the average member of the public uses a VTR principally to record a program he cannot view as it is being televised and then to watch it once at a later time. This
practice, known as "time-shifting," enlarges the television viewing audience. For that reason, a significant amount of television programming may be used in this manner without objection from the owners of the copyrights on the programs. For the same reason, even the two respondents in this case, who do assert objections to time-shifting in this litigation, were unable to prove that the practice has impaired the
commercial value of their copyrights or has created any likelihood of future harm. Given these findings,
there is no basis in the Copyright Act upon which respondents can hold petitioners liable for distributing
VTR's to the general public. "

This means that the use of recording televised shows for the private use is completely legal and covered under the "fair-use" act and that non-commercial use of the recordings is allowed by law. This also implies that public television networks may NOT use the sets we offer here for their own public network broadcast, nor may these be released on official commercial DVD as part of a commercial set without the expressed consent by the authoring production studio. These are for private use only, offered as a collectors items for people who want to view their old favorite shows that haven't been released yet in their entirety.
